Robert (Bob) Smith is the current City Manager of Warman,
SK. He previously served as the Chief Administrative Officer to the Towns of
Nokomis, Assiniboia, and Humboldt. More recently, he was the City Manager for
the City of Weyburn for 19 years before taking his current position with
Warman.
Bob's career in municipal service spans more than 30 years.
Bob's life-long commitment to public services is driven by a passion for excellence
in customer service, public engagement and creating an environment of
adaptability and continuous learning. Bob attained his certification in Local
Government Administration through the University of Regina. He has
received recognition for his work in municipal government with the presentation
of the Premier’s Award of Excellence in Public Sector in 2003. In 2012, Bob
received the Distinguished Service Award from the Canadian Association of
Municipal Administrators and in 2013, received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond
Jubilee Medal for his work in local government in Saskatchewan and Canada.
Bob has always valued continued education and has taken
every opportunity to pursue additional learning and training to enhance and
expand his professional knowledge. In 2005 he received his Certified
Professional Designation from the International Personnel Management
Association (CP-IPMA); Bob has also attained certificates in a variety of other
areas including Emergency Planning, Labour Relations, Police Administration,
Leadership and Team Building, and Introduction to Mediation.
Bob and his wife Leslie have two grown daughters, both
working in Saskatoon, and are enjoying the adventures of having recently become
grandparents!
