Following a snowfall, the snow is windrowed onto City sidewalks with the intent to remove the windrows time permitting. Crews attempt to keep at least 1/2 of the sidewalk clear during this time, until the windrows are removed. This process of snow removal is designed to continue to allow parking along residential streets, while maintaining wider roadway for 2-way traffic.
As per our snow removal bylaw, residents should refrain from shoveling, moving, sweeping or cleaning any snow, ice, dirt of other obstruction onto any street, sidewalk or lane. Doing so, hampers our crews ability to effectively remove snow.
In areas where snow is windrowed onto sidewalk, residents are not required to shovel their sidewalk, however they are encouraged to shovel their driveways as soon as reasonable, to help aid snow removal crews in identifying driveways.
While not directly related to snow removal, residents are asked to be mindful of parking regulations in the City. No vehicle can remain parked in an uninterrupted fashion for longer than 48 hours. For more information, please see our traffic bylaw.
There are a number of things that homeowners can do to help our crews during the snow removal process:
1. After a snowfall, at best refrain from parking along the street. In areas where there are no front facing driveways, crews will put out signs indicating date and time of snow removal. Residents in these areas are asked to do their best to adhere to this snow removal schedule.
2. Refrain from leaving your garbage/recycling carts our for extended periods of times before or after pickup.
3. Cleaning your driveway of snow in a timely manner will help crews identify your driveway, and increase the likelihood of windrows NOT being placed in front of your driveway.
Yes, every residential and non-residential property owner is required to pay education taxes, including people without children in school and senior citizens. This money is forwarded directly to the Prairie Spirit School Division to operate our local schools.

PAP stands for "Pre-authorized payment plan." Utility bill payers in Warman can use the PAP to have their utility bills automatically paid each month.
The full amount of the utility bill is withdrawn on the 25th of every month.
You can join the PAP Program if:* your current utility account is at a zero balance* you have no arrears from a previous utility account* you have banking privileges at your financial institution* your completed application is received two (2) weeks prior to the withdrawal date
If funds are not available when the payment is withdrawn, the City of Warman will apply a Bank Fee of $20.00 to your utility account. You will receive written notification of the bank returned item and be requested to pay the amount, including Bank Fee. Under no condition will the City continue to withdraw funds unless the invoice and fee are paid in full. After two (2) such dishonoured payments, you will be removed from the PAP Program. Penalties will be applied to accounts taken off the PAP Program that fall into arrears.
Any changes to your plan, including termination need to be submitted to the CIty of Warman two (2) weeks prior to the next payment via a Pre-authorized Payment Plan CHANGE FORM.
