“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do ...” Evert Edward Hale

I want to extend a big THANK YOU to the many Warman and area businesses and organizations who have been part of the community scholarships over the years. I also welcome all new Warman businesses and organizations to participate. This year, a total of $40,000 worth of scholarships are awarded to our students. We are very grateful and very proud of this kind of community spirit.
I also want to take the time this month to share something very special about this year’s grads. Every year for the last number of years I have put a flower pot on my doorstep that was given to me many years ago from one of my preschool classes. This little pot has had beautiful flowers planted in it each year and will continue to remain for many more summer seasons. I love looking at all the names, it brings me back to my days as a preschool teacher. This summer when I went to put it out with some new flowers I realized that the names on the pot were part of this year’s 2015 graduates. It instantly reminded me of the graduations we had back then for our little four year olds who were ready and eager with excitement, and perhaps a little bit nervous too, to be heading off to big kid school (kindergarten) in the fall. While these moments were special for the little students, they were also very special for me. Even now, all these years later as they prepare for their high school graduation these students will probably feel the same way they did on their preschool graduation. All dressed up in their beautiful cloths, I know the excitement is still there, they are eager to be moving onto something new but they are also nervous about the future and sad to say goodbye to the comforts of their High School and the friends and teachers they have met along the way. I imagine just like their preschool graduation, high school graduation will be a bit overwhelming. My hope for all the grads of 2015 is that just as you took those steps so many years ago towards new beginnings you will do it again and open an new door full of opportunities and possibilities.
Congratulations to all our 2015 graduates. May all your dreams come true and as you start to move ahead leave this world more interesting for your being here.
Thank you to my family, friends, and community for their continued support and to the little people I had the opportunity to work with for so many years, thank you for your part in teaching me a lot about life. It has prepared me well for the door that opened for me.
Happy summer.... Let the long summer days be filled with lots of great memories to be able to look back and reminisce is one of the pleasures of life.
