“Making a decision takes a moment, living a decision takes a life time...” Sherif A. El Mawardy
On March 18th 2015, Warman received very good news. Our City would finally get the Overpass/Interchange we long asked for. We are extremely thankful to our Provincial Government for addressing our traffic concerns for our quickly growing community.
Warman is currently in the midst of a pretty big decision that is incredibly important to our City. It is important that we reflect on how our decisions affect the future and make our views known to the Ministry of Highways, for their consideration, before the final drawings are ready and construction begins for our new overpass that will lead into our community.
At the time of the announcement, we understood that the Overpass/Interchange would be at our Central Street entrance. However, after the Ministry of Highways examined Highway 11, they presented four possible options at an Open House on May 12th and again at Warman Public Information Open House on May 14th.
Three of the options enter Warman at the Central Street entrance, and one option is at the new Highway 11 entrance at Highway 305. Every option has pros and cons and this decision does impact everyone who lives or travels to our vibrant community. The City of Warman Council, along with Provincial Government, have been tasked to endorse one of the four options. Your leadership is trying to get as much feedback as we can from our residents and businesses so that we, as your elected Council, can make the best choice for Warman and our future.
The examples are on display for discussion and can be viewed with your thoughts submitted at this link: www.highways.gov.sk.ca/Hwy11_12overpasses.
The deadline for comment is Tuesday, June 2, 2015.
The City of Warman is also conducting a very short survey on our social media feeds and our website, so if you have some free time please visit either. The survey takes less than 30 seconds to complete, but you’re the feedback from it is immeasurably valuable.
Please take the time to study the four options, think about the impact each decision will have, and finally have your voice heard with your comments and opinions. Your perspectives and thoughts matter for making decisions in our community. Please let us hear what you have to say! Thank you!
