The last two weeks have been a fury of activity here in the City of Warman.
It began with the October 24th Civic Election and a newly elected City Council. The voting residents of Warman have selected a fine group of men and woman to lead the community for the next four years. This diverse bunch has a lot to offer and a wide range of experience. With the help and support of Administration, staff and the municipality as a whole, we will navigate our community into this new role of City.
Our City Celebration a couple days later was a very special day. Filled with special guests, residents, neighbors, interesting history, delicious food, many laughs, family activities, football, cake and to cap off this wonderful day a spectacular fireworks display presented to us by our own Warman Fire Department. With all the positive comments, I went home that day tired but so proud of this fantastic community I call home.
Here we are in November already and as we approach November 11th I am reminded of all the freedoms we are so fortunate to have in this Country, Province, and City. This wonderful way of life with its liberties and endless bounties has come only because of the unselfish men and women who served their country.
No matter where you are on November 11th at 11:00 take a moment to remember these freedoms. Let us not forget the sacrifices made for a better life for us. Yes for you, me, our families, our children and their children.
"I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind" ........John Diefenbaker.......
