Mayor Spence 2017

City Mayor's Blog

I am very proud to be the first Mayor for the City of Warman.

From the first time I came to visit Warman over 30 years ago it has been very apparent Warman's charm comes from it's people.  The residents of Warman welcomed my family back then, and they continue to share their friendly community with all who come to live here or visit this fine City.  I am pleased to  have this kind of oppurtunity to share on a monthly basis, the good news and positive actions taking place in our community, the City of Warman.  Grab a cup of coffee and read on what is current and happening in the City of Warman.

Spring is in the Air

Posted on March 1, 2013 at 8:46 AM by Sarah King

March 1st.  Spring is in the air, even if the snow banks are 6 ft. high.  We are really hoping for a slow thaw.  If it gets warm to fast we could have trouble with water.  The city has been working long days trying to move snow away and prepare for this spring thaw.  As home owners you can prepare as well by moving snow away from your homes, making sure down spouts are directed away from the house and clear of ice.  Although risky if you have lots of snow on your roof it may be a good idea to move the snow away from any of your roof vents.  We are all really looking forward to seeing some green again let’s keep our fingers crossed that it happens slowly.

On to other news here in Warman.  We are excited with the news that a Chamber of Commerce is being formed here in the community.  A Business organization of this type is an essential part of every community.  The fact that Warman is growing as it is and our commercial sector is really starting to take off, the timing couldn’t be better for bringing together the business community in this way.

From conversations I have had with new businesses moving into Warman one of the first pieces of information they ask for is “how active is your Business Association or Chamber of Commerce and how do we get in touch with them”. In such a progressive community it has been unfortunate when our reply is “we don’t have an active Chamber of Commerce”.  So we are pleased that some eager minded businesses are stepping forward to help cultivate a proactive approach to this hole in the community.  The chance to network, share ideas, and look at all levels of Government programming that could enhance business in our new city will be very valuable.

We look forward to supporting our Chamber of Commerce and working alongside them with common visions.  I know our goals of creating a strong and prosperous business community are probably very much the same. We wish you much success!!!

I am off to the Community Association Ladies Diamond Dinner this Saturday evening and from all I have heard about the planning it should be a fabulous evening. Keeping my fingers crossed that I leave the event with a nice piece of jewelry from the many prizes that are a part of the evening. Thank you to the organizers and volunteers for another great event here in Warman.

Take care and I wish you all a very nice weekend.

Why Not You?
Today, many will awaken with a fresh sense of inspiration. Why not you?
Today, many will open their eyes to the beauty that surrounds them. Why not you?

Today is a new day!
Many will seize this day.
Many will live it to the fullest.
Why not you?”
